Chaos Clinic Recap
Here are Al's comments
2:55 OK, I'm passing and done. Thanks for coming. See you next week. Take a course or two.
2:50 Early today I thought Mars and Mercury would bound the day. Here we are trading at their midpoint.
2:45 getting pretty late to make a trade. Need some juice in next 10 minutes
2:39 looks like inverted from green +Tide to red -Tide; but will there be any juice?
2:35 on the SPBias chart, the bias has turned bullish
2:33 trend flat to up, will buy if hit 1284
2:31 no juice-cancelling all stop orders
2:27 stuck on Saturn +S090 flux, which set the early low.
2:19 looking weak, will sell 1280 stop; if elected, protective buy stop 1284
2:11 need to break about 1284 to get a decent rally going. High of last 3 hours 1283
2:10 at the trade time-not much juice, just watching
1:58 the EXMA's look like a tangled web - when they are, they easily deceive. Shakespeare was right.
1:47 I would not expect any such thrust to be very big, so any trade needs to be in and out
1:42 Today we saw a thrust to a high, a down thrust, and a congestion. A second down thrust is likely.
1:36 the range today is 9.25 points, one tick off a perfect 45 degrees on the Wheel of 72 scale. Not much to work with.
1:32 on the last trade, I think we may see a decline, but one that gets stopped and turned into a rally. So small targets are appropriate.
1:28 I have placed a Fractal of Pi chart in the Certified Chaos Trader's Room. That room is open
to graduates of my 4 main courses. See http://moneytide.com -> Courses for details.
1:15 If you've studied Gann, you know Gann found cycles in the Bible, just as my mentor Ev Garrette did. One of the most
famous is the 40 day Mercury/Moon cycle (40 days in desert, rained 40 days, etc.). On SPSunMoonMer chart, see prices on Mercury/Moon flux.
1:12 I'm back. Looks like I did not miss much. After the initial pushing and shoving things turned flat.
12:13 I'm going to consider that my second trade, take a rest, and come back for the 14:10 trade
12:06 now the 440 EXMA is flat, so the day's trend is flat.
11:59 I got out when I saw the little double bottom at 1279.25
also, from the high one can count 7 little moves
11:58 taking +2
11:55 stop to 1281.5, at the 55 min EXMA. lock .5
11:50 adjusting cover to 1277
11:50 down to the Mercury/Moon flux and the 440 EXMA
11:45 stop 1282
11:41 stop to 1283. Adjusting cover to 1278
11:20 I'll cover at 1279 if we get there. Move is well along and my brain's running on mud
11:16 stop to 1284
11:07 OK, not hotline trade, but sold 1282 stop 1285. 110 down, 20 crossed, and continued, 55 crosssed 110
also, range expansion to the downside
11:04 I'm not anxious to trade today. Not feeling that great.
10:55 my trade selection software skipped the 11:06 Tide time. Looks like maybe it should not have.
10:53 Friday mornings are often whippy-today, 6 points up, 4.75 down
10:48 Market made a move 5 high, then ran out of gas. Now it looks like it tries to hold up all day
10:42 now the 110 EXMA is going flat with the 20 crossing both ways.
10:37 this looks like move 6 in 7 in an up Chaos Clamshell on the MTRainbow chart.
10:32 prices have broken the 110 EXMA, but the 20 EXMA has not.
10:22 notice on the MTRAinbow chart that the magenta 55 Minute EXMA has now turned down. Convergence back toward the
440 EXMA has begun.
10:19 that may well have been the high of the day. Officially passing on the first trade
10:15 looking like a fade; not a good sell, would not have been that good a buy
10:07 now watching to see if the streak fades
10:03 this is a 10:00 resonant streak, due to Sun harmonics. 10:00 is two hours=30 degress from 12:00, solar noon
10:01 in hindsight, I could have made a continuation buy there, but I just didn't like the setup. Always another trade coming
9:58 new high on an extended move
9:54 making a double top-may attract some programmed selling
9:50 the trend for the day is up, by the direction of the 440 EXMA. But the distance from the EXMA says a countertrend pullback is probable
9:49 holding up, attracted by the Moon /Mars flux. Just watching
9:40 poked above the Mars/Moon flux, but coukld not hold it.
9:31 a counter trend trade would find support near the 110 EXMA, now at 1281.5, so it does not have much potential gain.
9:26 going into the first trade time, I don't see a trades setup by our rules, which trade with the trend, not counter trend.
9:22 on the MTRainbow chart, the white line is the 440 minute EXMA. It acts as the trend of the day and is usually touched during the day.
right now it is near 1278 , well below prices. So a modest pullback is likely.
9:15 on the Chaso Clinic chart, electric field flux lines of import are Sun +H000 1284,Mars +R000 1285, and Mercury +M000 1279
these may bound today's trading; top ones are hit by Moon -T270 flux, and bottom by Moon +T135
9:12 trade times today are 09:38, 12:38, and 14:10. First one may not give a good trade setup because of the overnight pop
9:07 market up a bit overnight in what looks like a move 5 of 7 in an up Chaos Clamshell on the MTRainbow chart
9:00 Good morning from Chaos Manor
Besides the comments made by Al, the chat room is has live
comments from other traders who sometimes share their views,
trades and tips. Below are the chat room comments from this clinic
1/21/2011 12:54:09 PM MT MJ:: I count 7 moves up from 1278.75 low.
1/21/2011 10:30:53 AM MT Ahab****:: great tools..great instincts..good job Al
1/21/2011 10:21:24 AM MT mm****:: Looks like Al's computer was right after all
1/21/2011 8:59:22 AM MT RAH:: I guess there is still no real curl on the 110, so no trade anyway.
1/21/2011 8:55:15 AM MT RAH:: Chart is making sense on my FoP fit. Poss going down from here, shame there is no trade time specified for this (hopefully) drop!
1/21/2011 8:28:05 AM MT Al****:: the 20 EXMA is still above the 110, and the slope of the 110 is up, so no curl
1/21/2011 8:18:23 AM MT RAH:: Why not a good sell Al? (selling when 110 crossed). Looks like its coming down nicely.
1/21/2011 7:47:45 AM MT RAH:: Al, you're also talking about the trend for the day being towards (intending to crossover) the white 440 EXMA on Rainbow. I always understood from what I've read that you meant the "trend" for the day should be in the "same direction" as the white 440 (parallel to the 440)? Was I wrong in this understanding? If so, shows you how one can completely misunderstand something!
1/21/2011 7:43:21 AM MT RAH:: Al, is the fluxline info in the FoG course?
1/21/2011 7:06:39 AM MT Al****:: GM all -27 F and partly cloudy in Denver
1/21/2011 6:58:59 AM MT EOE:: GM everyone. 1F this morning. a bit chilly. good luck.
lets hope its not another mm stinker. :-)
