Chaos Clinic Recap
Here are Al's comments
3:12 I'm done for the day-thanks for coming - see you next week-take a course
3:11 covered at 1297 for +3.5
3:00 stop to 1297.5 ; looks like last hour panic
2:56 hard to sit a a 5 point gain , but EXMA's look good
2:47 1305 -18 = 1287 ; potential target
2:43 stop to 1298 -between 110 and 55
2:41 on a good move, the EXMAs become straight lines
2:39 stop is at the 110 EXMA -don't want to press it too hard
2:35 ah-there is the acceleration
2:33 stop to 1299
2:28 stop to 1299.5 -lock 1 -EXMAs look good
2:19 the key here is to be patient, not stare at the screen, and not flinch
2:13 in about 30 minutes the green Moontide line has a vertical drop - could accelerate the decline
2:09 stop to 1300 - lock .5
2:07 here I'm just watching the nature of the 20, 55, and 110 EXMAs - want to see them continue to diverge
2:03 stop to 1301
2:02 this is a "cover on close" trade unless stopped out
2:00 stop to 1301.5
1:54 stop to 1302-just above the 110
1:49 stop to 1304 - like the divergence on the 20/55/110
1:45 not much action yet, but now everyone has given up on a rally and fears a decline
1:39 sold 1300.5 stop 1305
1:37 I'm ready to sell, but I want to see some juice before I jump
1:33 on a sell, a protective stop could go at 1307, just above the 440 minute EXMA
1:24 we have a thrust and a congestion - next trade may fit the GO BIG rule if we get a decline
1:14 an interesting point is that trade is mostly below the Sun (1307.5) and Node (1309) flux
these are being set by the solar eclipse on Sunday - suggests lower prices next week
trade is hanging around the Moon flux, which will rise to cross the Sun and Node flux
1:09 posted a Fractal of Pi chart in the CCT Room
1:01 trend of day remains down by 440 EXMA - 110 pausing - weak 20/110 crossings
12:59 back - park is right at the end of my block - hot so Scout, who is mostly black, didn't want to linger
12:44 still more than an hour until the next trade time - taking a break to take the dogs to the park
12:42 took +1 and uncled - see chat room for better executions
12:35 I may get stopped on my trade - I missed a good cover because I was eating breakfast - we shall see
12:25 I have placed a Fractal Grid ( from Chaos Trading Made Easy) chart in the Certified
Chaos Trader's Room. That room is open
to graduates of my 4 main courses. See http://moneytide.com -> Courses for details.
12:20 one of the most interesting and educational things you can do is use an ephemeris, such as my WinGephi, to
follow the turns in a new stock as it gets older. Observe and learn.
12:18 S&P high was set by the Mars oppose Chiron flux, so Mars/Chiron cycle will be a part of facebook forever
the Node forms a T square with them as well
12:10 the facebook IPO hit 45 on first bar, then dropped to 38, right in synch with this eMini drop
12:04 one of my regulars took the same trade - see the chat room
12:00 moving my stop to 1305, break even
11:56 that trade is just a setup I've seen lots of time-market is weak, get a congetsion that pops up to the 440,
giving a 20/110 buy, then 20/110 sell in what i all a "hook and go"
11:55 back from breakfast with my lovely wife-trade looks good
11:20 taking a breakfaast break - not a hotline trade but sold 1305 stop 1311
11:15 rally was stopped dead by the 440 EXMA - when get a 20/110 buy just under the 440, this often happens
10:55 this is a 20/110 buy signal in the trade window, but I already may my trade; also, looks like red -Tide is in effect
so if one didn't buy quickly, it may be too late
10:50 the next trade time is 14:05, so there is a while to wait
10:47 when a trade is not working, it is better to take a small loss, forget it, and move on to the next trade
10:44 aborted for -2
10:42 here my choices are to accept 4 points of risk of loss, or abort for a sure 2 point loss
10:39 yesterday we saw this same sort of "buzz" between 10:20 and 11:10, then the market moved
10:36 this is a real test of patience and discipline
10:32 the 110 EXMA is slowly down, and stoped last blip up
10:30 the 440 EXMA is steady down, so I'm trying to sit tight
10:27 stop to 1308
10:24 stuck on the Mercury +M000 flux
10:18 down sloping 110 EXMA stopped little rally -good
10:15 stuck in the mud
10:05 not a lot of juice -sort of what I expected
10:00 the 20 EXMA has stayed below the 110 - good
9:58 on the SPSunMoonMer chart, the Moon -T270 electric field flux line is exerting a negative influence on price
9:51 here I need a wide stop, above the highs
9:44 I don't like early trades, especially on Fridays, but one has to take the signals in the trade window
9:41 can't ignore it, sold 1304 stop 1309
9:39 I'd like to wait until after the exact trade time
9:37 early selling
9:35 looking at the MTRainbow chart, the white 440 EXMA is down, so the day's trend is down. The 110 EXMA is flat,
so crossings by the 20 EXMA will give some false signals
9:28 speaking of IPOs, the only way I know to trade them is to get an XGO chart ( see catalog on http://moneytide.com)
and watch for the dips that are months apart, adding to a position on the dips. I personally stay out of the early
fray.
9:27 Today's trade times are 10:11 and 14:05. There are no economic reports today and the Facebook IPO
is a distraction from index trading, so it may not be that volatile until late in the day.
9:26 Good Morning. Welcome to the Chaos Clinic. This site has a lot of charts,
so you may find it useful to have several of them available within your
browser. If you have a tabbed browser, you can open separate charts
in separate tabs by right clicking on any link, and selecting "open in new tab"
from the menu. The main list of site pages is at
http://daytradingforecasts.com/chartlistsec.asp
Recommended pages to watch are SPKISS, MTRainbow, and Chat.
For astro stuff, add SPSunMoonMer, Wheel, and Chaos Clinic.
Chaos clinic comments appear at the bottom of the SPKISS, MTRainbow,
and ChaosClinic pages. Comments in the chat room are announced by a
"duck call" noise. This noise also occurs when the sofware detects a
resonant hex pattern on the Wheel page. Trading tutorials
are on the righty side of the ListOfCharts page. One should
read Trading the MoonTide Tutorial and Keep it Simple as a minimum.
9:00 Good morning from Chaos Manor
Besides the comments made by Al, the chat room is has live
comments from other traders who sometimes share their views,
trades and tips. Below are the chat room comments from this clinic
5/18/2012 1:56:47 PM MT BBB****:: And Al's courses are excellent! Ya'll have a good weekend. Nice day - thank you Al.
5/18/2012 1:50:13 PM MT BBB****:: In fact I traded my paper account today only and am happy with the results, not mad that I was not trading a real account. I had a lunch meeting so I didn't want the stress of having a real trade on then having to go to lunch or missing the second trade time if lunch ran too long.
5/18/2012 1:50:04 PM MT WSL:: BBB, I use ToS too. Love it. I will listen to your advice. Thanks!
5/18/2012 1:47:35 PM MT sdg:: Fascinating how the MM's will not let FB break $38!
5/18/2012 1:46:46 PM MT WSL:: BBB, I understand. Although I do not like to lose but I could afford it.
5/18/2012 1:46:44 PM MT BBB****:: I wish I was still short but I covered half around 94 and then got stopped at 97. Was going to reshort the 20 pulling away from the 110, but didn't want to get greedy.
WSL - I would HIGHLY recommend getting a papertrade account somewhere (I used Thinkorswim from TDAMERITRADE) and paper trade this for a long time. I have been with Al since August 2011 and I still paper trade every day (real trades as well) just to keep me on my toes. My return was better than anything I have ever come across, but there were drawdowns that were really tough to get through. I have now gotten better at walking away and not trying to make a loss back, rather just trading.
5/18/2012 1:46:33 PM MT sdg:: BBB - great point! I could trade many more contracts, but just not at the comfort level yet. Start small with your speculative account and build from there. This is not get rich quick.
5/18/2012 1:44:57 PM MT sdg:: While a question for Al, I will say it is what you make of it and comes down to money management. Al has his stops, I may use something different. I have profit targets, so I look for stops that will give me a 1.5-2/1 win/loss ratio. Exits matter more the entries.
5/18/2012 1:43:07 PM MT BBB****:: WSL - make sure you are aware of the pitfalls of trading. If you are trading with money that is necessary that can and will be a disasterous mistake. Please make sure it is money you can afford to lose.
5/18/2012 1:40:44 PM MT WSL:: May I ask a blunt question? What is the success rate of this trading method? The record is unbelievable.
5/18/2012 1:39:12 PM MT sdg:: Sure there are others, the ***'s probably working the trade down to 87 as we speak.
5/18/2012 1:38:37 PM MT WSL:: SDG, Happy 45th birthday!?
5/18/2012 1:38:09 PM MT sdg:: WSL: I wish you well, but trading is speculative. If you start with that monkey on your back, that's just pressure you don't need as you begin your journey.
5/18/2012 1:37:24 PM MT WSL:: It seems like not many people in this chat room besides three of us.
5/18/2012 1:36:50 PM MT sdg:: BBB - could be right, just played the hand I saw at the time. Time for some cold ones on my big 45th!
5/18/2012 1:36:01 PM MT WSL:: SDG & BBB, thank you so much for guiding me. I need help to make some money for my family.
5/18/2012 1:34:02 PM MT sdg:: While true, had data to support my decision. Sometimes it works, other times... No need to let a nice profit dissipate, there will always be another trade.
5/18/2012 1:33:48 PM MT BBB****:: See - i bet we get to 1287 as per Al.
5/18/2012 1:33:10 PM MT WSL:: man, don't tell me it is dropping to 1287 after I got stopped out.
5/18/2012 1:31:07 PM MT WSL:: SDG, that's ok. Sometimes, we get emotional, and began to convince ourselves to get out of a trade.
5/18/2012 1:27:18 PM MT sdg:: See WSL, genius for about 12 minutes! Plan the trades and work the plan.
5/18/2012 1:25:59 PM MT BBB****:: sdg - after using wave 59 for some time, I got discouraged by the numberous false signals I was getting that would psychologically take me out of the moon tide trades. I even ponied up for the Cycle software of Lars' that is on the site. Great and very interesting stuff, but I know now that sticking to my guns with Al's stuff is the way to go. It can't be beat.
Just my $.02
5/18/2012 1:19:44 PM MT WSL:: SDG, thanks!
5/18/2012 1:19:42 PM MT sdg:: In the end there is no magic, only probabilities. This time it worked out for me, other times it has not. Just taking high probability trades and being happy increasing the account.
5/18/2012 1:16:54 PM MT sdg:: Ultra smooth momentum and Smart Money Index in Wave 59. CCI as well on 5-minute chart
5/18/2012 1:15:14 PM MT WSL:: SDG, may I know what divergence did you see?
5/18/2012 1:14:35 PM MT sdg:: Good Friday! Have a good weekend all!
5/18/2012 1:05:17 PM MT sdg:: covered, didnt like the divergence on the lows
5/18/2012 12:47:30 PM MT BBB****:: So nice to have a good Friday session.
5/18/2012 12:23:46 PM MT WSL:: Listening to Kina Grannis' musics while trading....God blessing! Nice!
5/18/2012 10:42:23 AM MT WSL:: SDG, good advice. Thanks.
5/18/2012 10:17:27 AM MT sdg:: Positive divergence on the lows, potential slop til next trade time?
5/18/2012 10:15:32 AM MT sdg:: Nice trade BBB!
5/18/2012 10:13:32 AM MT BBB****:: I sold the cross after the pop and took 7 - that was good enough!
5/18/2012 10:12:18 AM MT sdg:: WSL: I did too. Think of it as a manufacturing process, manufacturing profits. No manufacturing process is without scraps (losses), just keep them small and move on.
5/18/2012 10:03:14 AM MT WSL:: I got stopped out for 2 points loss earlier. I am waiting patiently for the next trade at 14:05 ET.
5/18/2012 9:58:19 AM MT sdg:: covered for 7.75 pts
5/18/2012 9:37:49 AM MT BBB****:: Nice
5/18/2012 9:32:12 AM MT sdg:: Took that same trade Al, odd....
5/18/2012 8:10:54 AM MT BBB****:: Looks like a nice clamshell setting up
5/18/2012 7:36:39 AM MT BBB****:: WSL - make sure you are on the chaos clinic page to read Al's comments today.
5/18/2012 7:16:29 AM MT WSL:: BBB, thank you so much for your feedback.
5/18/2012 7:13:58 AM MT BBB****:: WSL: relax and read the rules on the "Tomorrow's market forecast" page. Nothing saying to go long or short yet. Hardest part is the patience it takes to just sit and wait. I highly recommend all of Al's courses. I have been a CCT for almost a year but I go back and look at the courses every other week or so. And each time I do I pick up something valuable that adds to my performance.
5/18/2012 7:12:38 AM MT mm****:: Al - no, I am still working off my wife's laptop - I had more than a dozen bugs on my desktop - the techie comes back today so hopefully it will be fixed
5/18/2012 7:06:31 AM MT WSL:: With a limited knowledge I have, we are looking to go long at 10:11am EST, right?
5/18/2012 7:04:16 AM MT WSL:: I am a newbie. May I know exactly how many CCTs that we currently have? I am seriously thinking about becoming a CCT myself.
5/18/2012 7:03:42 AM MT SSP:: GM
5/18/2012 7:01:59 AM MT BBB****:: Morning everyone good luck today
5/18/2012 7:00:44 AM MT WSL:: Good morning all! Let's have a great and profitable trading day! I am new to this but very excited about the trading method.
5/18/2012 6:58:14 AM MT Al****:: GM all-good luck today
MM-hope you got your technocrap problem resolved
5/18/2012 5:46:06 AM MT mm****:: gm all - have a great day
