Chaos Clinic Recap
Here are Al's comments
12:37 I think I'm going to call it a day - did my planned trades - thanks for coming-see you next week-take a course
12:36 I have placed a Fractal of Pi chart in the Certified Chaos Trader's Room. That room is open
to graduates of my 4 main courses. See http://moneytide.com -> Courses for details.
12:32 regular MM may be right about Wall Street heading for the Hamptons :)
12:30 20 EXMA still above 110-I may rebuy if get a continuation setup
12:26 selling came in at the prior high; not very good follow through. I tried to go for more than 5 points but it did not work.
12:24 stopped for +1
12:18 still OK-every trade has to survive the first adverse reaction
12:15 stop OK by one tick so far
12:10 with the Dow up for a second day in a row, and up 180,
the bears should be about to panic
12:03 I'm watching to see if this rally picks up some steam
11:55 stop 1181
11:52 stop 1180; just under the 20 EXMA
11:39 stop 1177; just under 20 EXMA
11:38 OK, bought 1180 stop 1176
11:35 got 20/110 buy crossing, but I want to see some follow through; 4th crossing today
11:30 if you look at the Chaos Clinic chart, at the green +Tide line and the red -Tide line, you see
a MoonTide Fractal Set, where both are evident, but balancing. Their shape looks very much like the famous
Mandelbrot Fractal Set.
11:23 the past three days have looked like a 1-2-3 of the 7 moves in a Chaos Clamshell, making today
move 4. Move 4 is often a confusing congestion
11:10 in second trade window - would like to see some better volatility
11:01 Won't go up, won't go down, Crazy Harry is a clown. He is the conductor of the Stop and Pee train
10:55 this is looking more like a normal dull summer Friday, when I normally go camping.
10:44 now trading both sides of a flat 110-a congestion-stay out
10:31 not much of a dip for such a bad consumer sentiment report
10:25 on the MTRainbow chart, the flow is up, and the white 440 EXMA is up
10:20 My Jude 7 trading system adjusted stops for the current volatiliy and wound up using a 16 point stop.
10:13 in answer to to the question about my initial stop in the chat room-why was it initially 11 and not 5 points?
Because of the increased volatility; daily ranges have been 3 to 4 times normal, meaning
the risks are 3 to 4 times normal; If you are going to try the trade, you have to accept the risk the market is giving you. I just put the stop under the 110 EXMA.
10:11 on the two day chart, I see that we just leveled off in a rally, so waiting until the next trade time looks prudent
10:08 there was a 20/110 sell in there, but I did not take it because I did not see a good entry price
10:05 on the AUX page I placed a chart showing my jude 7 autotrader-it did well the past two days, but just had a 10 point loss this morning.
10:01 consumer sentiment report was not good-tracking red -Tide
9:55 got wacked for -6; in hind sight, should have waited
9:48 rebought 1182 stop 1176
9:44 will rebuy if 20 EXMA turns back up
9:42 really hard near the open, especially on Fridays
9:39 aborting for -5
9:37 stop to 1176; just under 110 EXMA
9:33 taking continuation buy 1184 stop 1173
9:22 market held up overnight-positive; trade times 9:43 and 11:33
9:00 Good morning from Chaos Manor
